For general French courses, we use the method called ECHO. This method by J. Girardet et J. Pécheur uses extensively natural activities close to actual communication between adults, more than school exercises. Its approach is aimed at action, which means that the student is an actor, he exchanges information, experiences, opinions and he builds projects. ECHO gives ample possibility for the student to work on his own, thanks to the Personal Learning Notebook, which goes with a CD, and with regular tests. ECHO’s goals and methodology are in total adequation with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and also prepares for the internationally recognised DELF and DALF exams.
Books, notebooks and student CD are for sale in the French Institute in Denpasar.
Conversation classes
Conversation classes are open to all students who want to practice their speaking skills. They offer you the opportunity to review and practice orally what you have already studied in the general French course or another, once you have some basic keys for communication (after level 6).
These classes focus primarily on oral skills and aim to develop your fluency. They do not follow a predetermined program. These courses are custom-made and teachers choose topics, activities and resources to trigger conversation. This may include role-playing situations in everyday life (with basic vocabulary & present tense), discussions (including a larger vocabulary and other tenses), the expression of ideas and opinions on varied topics.
No book is required because teachers provide the equipment. These classes are based on authentic materials, written, oral and video.
Registration
If you are a complete beginner, please register at reception, by filling in a registration form and bringing 2 photos (2 X 3).
Registration, tuition fees and the materials are to be paid up front on registration. Payment can be made at reception in cash (no credit card).
To avoid disappointment please enroll well in advance.

Reception opening hours:
Monday - Friday 8am - 1pm & 2pm - 8pm
|
You can save time by downloading the registration form and by sending it by e-mail or by bringing it to the reception when you come to enroll.
You will find a location map here.
Assessments
Non-beginner adults enrolling for the first time are asked to come for an assessment. We are running assessments during the enrollment period a few weeks before the start of a new term. Assessments are made on appointments and cost IDR 50.000. This is an essential procedure to discuss your needs with us and ensure that you are assigned to the type of course and level which suits you best.
Exceptions: Children, secondary school students and complete beginners do not need to be assessed.
Students already with the Alliance progress automatically to the next level up, under the condition that they succeed in the end of session test.
Discounts
Discount is available to students registering for a 6th class and above in Alliance Française (see details at reception).
