All ages

Two hundred orchestral musicians are playing Orff’s Carmina Burana in total darkness. A power cut hits the Ngiri Ngiri district of Kinshasa, only a few bars before the last section of the music. Kinshasa’s power stations and main networks are insufficient to supply electricity to all the 8 million inhabitants of what is Africa’s third-largest city. But for its members this is no reason to stop rehearsing. Small lapses of memory are compensated for by a talent for improvisation and the grace of God.

An abrupt news from his ex-girlfriend make Struja realise that there is far more to life than agonising over whether or not his band should play at a wedding.

Just married, with a baby due, no money and nowhere decent to live, a Romanian boy and a Bessarabian girl came up with a plan, that is to hold in Bessarabia a repeat of their wedding ceremony, hoping they would receive enough cash from their wedding presents. A rather serious grudge between those who represent different nations but speak the same language, the theme of xenopobia arises overlapping with history, presented with humor.
